CompTIA To Update Network+
4/19/2001 -- The Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) recently announced plans to upgrade its Network+ certification exam. Certification Program Manager Tancy Stanbery characterized the update as a "minor revision." She told CertCities,"We anticipate no more than a 15 percent change to the exam objectives."
A preliminary blueprint of the new objectives have been posted on the CompTIA Web site (click here). According to Stanbery, the final objectives will be released in June, followed by a beta period in late summer, with final launch of the linear version of the new exam in October. An adaptive version is scheduled to go live in early 2002.
Network+ is a vendor-neutral title designed to certify the skills of networking professionals with 18 to 24 months of experience. For more information on Network+ and other CompTIA certifications, click here. -B.N.
