Novell's Hands-On CLP Exam Now Live
11/24/2004 -- Novell's new Certified Linux Professional (CLP) exam is now live and available through Novell-authorized testing centers.
According to a news announcement on Novell's Web site, the CLP exam went live on Nov. 9.
The CLP is part of Novell's new Linux-focused certification program, which also includes the Certified Linux Engineer (CLE). Both are one-exam titles whose exams test hands-on skills using a proprietary Novell testing engine.
Because of the unique testing environments, the exams are currently only available through Novell-authorized testing centers, although the company said it's working with major test center vendors to increase availability.
The CLP and CLE exams cost $195 (U.S.).
The CLP debuted in beta format at Brain Share Europe this fall. This mid-level title will replace the SuSE Certified Professional title that Novell has been offering since its debut earlier this year.
