First Oracle 10g Beta Launching June 15


6/9/2004 -- This week Oracle announced the first beta exam opportunity for its upcoming Oracle Certified Professional, Database Administrator (OCP DBA)10g certification track.

The beta exam, Oracle Database 10g: New Features for Administrators (#1Z1-040), will be available on June 15 for the discounted price of $50 (U.S.). The exam enables those previously certified on Oracle9i to upgrade their certification to the 10g track. Objectives for the new exam can be found here.

Oracle beta exams can last up to three hours and consist of hundreds of questions. Those who pass do receive credit toward certification.

The company did not say when it expects to take the exam "live." An announcement of the full 10g track is expected shortly.
