3/24/2004 -- Candidates interested in obtaining a security certification from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) in 2004 have until the end of this month to register for the exams.

ISACA offers the exams for its two certifications -- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and the new Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) -- once per year at test centers worldwide. This year, the date is June 12.

Candidates must register on or before March 31 in order to take the exams. The exams cost $375 (U.S.) each for ISACA members, and $495 for non-members. Payment is due at time of registration. Candidates who choose to register online save $30 on the price of the exam.

According to the ISACA, more than 11,000 candidates registered for the CISA exam last year. There are more than 30,000 CISAs worldwide.
