IT Project+ Beta Coming Soon

7/9/2003 -- The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) recently announced that it is updating its IT Project+ exam and will be offering a discounted beta version of the new exam worldwide.

The beta (exam #PK1-002) debuts July 16 at Prometric and Pearson Vue testing centers worldwide. It consists of 100 questions and will cost $99 (U.S.). Those who pass the beta will become IT Project+ certified, CompTIA said.

The final "live" version of the exam will debut sometime in September. CompTIA did not say when the current IT Project+ exam will be retired, although the organization typically allows for some overlap to ease the transition for candidates.

The update does not affect those already IT Project+ certified as CompTIA certifications do not expire.

More information on participating in this beta can be found here. -Becky Nagel
