Solaris Security Cert Goes Live April 29

4/16/2003 -- Sun Microsystems recently announced on its Web site that the company's new Sun Security Administrator for the Solaris 9 Operating Environment credential
will go live Tuesday, April 29.

The title is the first security-specific certification to be offered by Sun. It is part of the program's Solaris-focused credential track, which also includes a System and Network Administrator title.

Security Administrator consists of one exam that will be available at Prometric testing centers worldwide for $150 (U.S.). There are no prerequisites to earn the title, although the company recommends that candidates have six to 12 months of experience administering security in a Solaris environment.
