10/2/2002 -- ProsoftTraining.com announced last month that it has added a new certification to its line of Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) titles: CIW Web Developer.

Unlike many of Prosoft's other CIW certifications, this one-exam certification does not require that candidates pass the company's CIW Foundations exam as a prerequisite. CIW Web Developer is, however, part of a new Web Developer track offered by the jCert initiative, a consortium of Java certification vendors that agreed to allow joint credit for other members' certification exams. So far, CIW Web Developer is the only exam in jCert's Web Developer track. The title is also an elective for the jCert's Solution Developer track.
