9/26/2001 -- Nortel Networks announced on Friday that is has "decommissioned" its Accelar certification exam (#920-022), effective immediately.

According to Nortel, the Accelar exam is an advanced product exam that counted toward its Design Expert, Support Expert and Enterprise Solutions certification tracks.

The exam is still available to those who registered for it before Sept. 21, and still counts for those who passed it before the retirement. However, anyone else interested in taking the exam must now choose from a list of alternatives.

Nortel gave no reason for the retirement of the exam. -B.N.
