Novell To Overhaul Certification Program
6/4/2001 -- Novell is scheduled to unveil major changes to its certification program at its upcoming Edge 2001 education conference, being held later this month in San Diego, California.
The conference's Web page says that attendees will be "one of the first to see the new Novell certification roadmap." The site does not give details on what the changes will be; however, in the June issue of "Certification Corner," an e-mail certification newsletter published by Mercury Technical Solutions/DS Technologies, author Emmett Dulaney reports that Novell is expected to announced the following:
- The CNE will be streamlined, much in the same manner that the Master CNE was revised last month.
- A certification track for NetWare 6 will be announced, and the NetWare 3.x track will be retired.
- Novell will offer more testing on vendor-neutral topics.
CertCities will bring you more details on these changes when they are officially announced at Edge 2001. For more on Edge 2001, click here. For more on Novell's current certification program, click here. -B.N.
