5/28/2008 -- There could be several reasons why the memory dump file isn't being saved after a crash. Assuming that the option to overwrite an existing dump file is already checked, there are a few things that you need to look into.

First, verify that the paging file on the boot drive is at least as large as the amount of RAM plus 1MB. This is required if you've checked the option to write a complete memory dump. Boot drive is the drive where Windows is installed.

For example, if you installed Windows on drive D, make sure that drive D has a large enough paging file. The paging file is written to the root of the drive where Windows is installed.

You also need to verify that there's enough room on the hard disk where you're saving the memory dump file. If you specify an incorrect path, the memory dump file won't be written, so make sure there are no typos in the path that you've specified for the dump file.
