LPI Announces Level II Beta, Level I Revision

8/8/2001 -- The Linux Professional Institute announced last week that beta versions of its Level II exams will be available beginning Sept. 4.

According to LPI, its Level II exams cover intermediate Linux system administration skills, and are aimed at those with at least three years experience who have also passed LPI's Level I exams.

The two tests required to earn LPI's Level II title have been combined for this beta, which will last through November. The cost of participating is $84. Those who pass the beta will be LPI Level II certified.

After the beta period is completed in November, Level II will be delivered as two separate tests (exams 201 and 202) costing $100 each.

In other LPI news, the organization has also announced that it will soon be conducting a revision of its Level I exams. It has posted a call for volunteers to help with the revamp.
