David Wells Joins The Data Warehousing Institute as the Director of Education


SEATTLE, WA, October 3, 2002—The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI), the premier association for business intelligence and data warehousing eduation and research, is pleased to announce that David Wells has joined its team as Director of Education.

As Director of Education, Wells will be responsible for developing, managing, and defining the strategy for TDWI’s highly acclaimed education and training programs. Wells will foster the continued growth of TDWI's curriculum to support the constantly evolving needs of business intelligence and data warehousing professionals worldwide, while maintaining TDWI’s reputation for quality and depth.

David Wells comes to TDWI from the University of Washington where he was an Enterprise Systems Manager. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, a contributing author to industry publications, and an instructor and member of TDWI’s faculty. Through a career of more than 30 years, David has worked in management, analysis and design, quality assurance, data administration, programming, consulting, and education roles.

With the addition of Wells to TDWI, Wayne Eckerson, TDWI's former Director of Education, has been named Director of Research. As Director of Research, Eckerson will lead the expansion of TDWI's research division. Eckerson will be responsible for overseeing TDWI published content through research expand the depth and breadth of its research offerings and provide increased value to its members and the industry as a whole.

TDWI has also made several other notable organizational changes. Ellen Hobbs has been promoted to Vice President, Business Technologies Group and New Business Development for 101communications. TDWI falls under the Business Technologies Group within 101communications and thus will remain under Hobbs' strategic direction. Brenda Woodbridge has been promoted to General Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of TDWI. Denelle Hanlon has been promoted to Director of Global Business Development, charged with seeking new opportunities for TDWI internationally. Meighan Berberich has been promoted to Marketing Director of the Business Technologies Group of 101communications.
