Nortel Announces Major Program Changes for 2002

10/24/2001 -- Nortel Networks recently announced several major program changes for 2002.

Starting next year, all the company's Specialist certifications will require one fundamental exam plus at least one product/solution exam. Its Expert titles will require a Specialist certification plus at least two product/solution exams. This is to bring consistency across all of its titles, Nortel said.

Nortel also said that starting in 2002 it will require recertification for Specialists and Experts every two years, and Architects every three years. For now, this policy applies only to those certified before January 1, 2000.

In addition, the company is eliminating its Unified exams for the Enterprise Solutions Account Specialist and Design Specialist designations.
