Another .NET Exam Gets Beta Tested

11/12/2008 -- For fans of Microsoft's .NET Framework who want to validate their expertise with writing ASP.NET-based applications, Microsoft has released a Professional-level exam into beta testing last week.

According to a post on the Microsoft Beta Exam Announcement Blog, Exam 70-564 Pro: Designing and Developing ASP.NET Applications Using the .NET Framework 3.5 was put through its paces starting last Thursday at Prometric testing centers worldwide (exceptions are China, India and Pakistan), with the beta cycle ending on Dec. 1. While in beta, the exam is numbered 71-564.

According the exam objective guide, the test targets ASP.NET application developers who work with Visual Studio and .NET Framework 3.5 in a team environment. Microsoft recommends that candidates also have two to three years of experience developing and designing ASP.NET applications, particularly those that are data-driven. Experts only need apply; Microsoft lists no training resources for this exam in its guide.

Those who pass Exam 71-564 will earn the MCPD: ASP.NET Developer 3.5 title when the exam goes live, which is expected in late December.

The beta is free to those who provide the promo code when registering for the exam; for the code, click here. Michael Domingo
