IBM Beefs Up Hardware Certs

3/28/2007 -- IBM recently added a number of new certifications to its line of "System" certifications, including System i, System p and System x.

Since the beginning of the year, the company has added more than a dozen new hardware certifications, most of which debuted this month. The additions include:

  • Five new certifications for its System p series of titles. The System p track of certifications debuted last year (replacing AIX).
  • Three new System i certifications (and retired several eServer certifications).
  • Two new System x certifications for IT administration.
  • Two new System z certifications; one for IT support, one for sales.

All of these new IBM exams are now available at Prometric and Pearson Vue testing centers worldwide. Optional training is available.

For more information on these new certificaitons, go here and scroll down to the "hardware" section of the listing, then click on the certification you're interested in. -Becky Nagel
