Oracle Temporarily Waives Hands-On Class Requirements for Business Certs

1/10/2007 -- Oracle Corp. recently announced that it is offering temporary waivers for the hands-on course required for its new line of E-Business 11i certifications.

Normally, candidates must take a hands-on course as well as pass all the required exams to achieve one of the three credentials: Oracle 11i Financials Consultant, Oracle 11i Supply Chain Consultant and Oracle 11i Applications Technology Administrator. However, through this promotion, candidates who pass all of their required exams by the end of May and submit a waiver form available on Oracle's site before July 31 do not need the hands-on exam to earn their chosen title.

Oracle began requiring hands-on classes for all of its midlevel and above certifications a few years ago. Classes must be taken through a chosen Oracle provider.

The company announced its E-Business 11i track of credentials in October.

Oracle exams are available at Prometric testing centers worldwide.

1/13/13: Edwin from nURCjbeKI says: I think ISTQB Certification can be seen similar to any other mooledohtgical study taken at school or university. Any study/certificate/degree/diploma etc,. IMO aims to provide students with some fundamental skills related to the study undertaken. It would be unfair to assume that all the students who pass any exam will have same level of understanding of the skills thought and all of them would be able to effectively apply those skills.Drawback of mooledohtgical study is it kills the creativity of students.
