This is a great book, and a new edition is released every year. I originally bought my first copy in the early 90s, and have just recently updated to the latest version. I always find it useful -- for example, I am finally considering buying a writable CD-ROM drive for home, and the information in the book has been a great help for me to make the right purchase choice. I think we all try to keep on top of the major developments in PC technology, but there is so much happening we can't hope to master it all. For the beginner to the expert, there's something here for everyone.
